Former Reagan appointee tells Republicans not to support tort reform.

Andrew Cochran, a well-known conservative and life-long Republican, strongly urges fellow conservatives to oppose tort reform. He calls the attack on the Seventh Amendment by some business interests a “30-year war” on individual rights. The implications go well beyond consumer safety, he says. “The degradation of any constitutional right enunciated in the Bill of Rights threatens the entire superstructure of American constitutional law and individual rights,” said Cochran.
